Celebrate Good Deeds Day with The American Society of Panama
The American Society of Panama is encouraging our
members and friends to participate in “GOOD DEEDS DAY” on Sunday
April 2, 2017.
Good Deeds Day is a global day of volunteering that unites people from 88 countries to do good deeds for the benefit of others and the planet. Since 2007, millions of people from thousands of organizations and businesses join together every year to volunteer and make a difference.
This is the first year The American Society of Panama is participating in GOOD DEEDS DAY!

Paint
Day at the YMCA
The
YMCA needs to paint a large classroom so they can start free classes on
Saturdays in art, theater, music, percussion, dance, and handicrafts for
students ages 8 to 15. They need 8 to 10 volunteers for this great paint
project to help the youth from Curundu who also learn about values and
self-esteem.

Ecostudio, POC Mathew Hotsko
EcoStudio is participating in the "Good Deeds Day" for their second year. Last year they prepared plants in their nursery and rebagged seeds that had gotten too big for their community pots. This year they are moving the plants and palms into bigger pots to prepare them for the National Reforestation Day hosted by MiAmbiente in June.
Additionally, they have activities for people of all ages, including working with clay to make pots for repotting plants, using pallets to create flower pots and vertical plant stands, setting up irrigation systems, jewelry workshops and playing around with greenhouse designs using reusable materials. Teachers will lead groups of volunteers in each area. They have speakers for guests who are just there to watch.
