The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) received proposals from four companies aspiring to design and build the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, which will be ready in a 42-month period, costing more than $ 1 billion.

This work is considered the second largest in the country, after the expansion of the Panama Canal.

The new bridge will benefit more than one million residents of the province of West Panama and will not affect the operation of the Panama Canal.

The fourth bridge project has an extension of 6.5 kilometers from Albrook Mall to the entrance of Panama Pacifico.

The new bridge will have a cost with barrier free toll with a portico similar to those that will be installed in the current corridors.
